With Tilak Verma’s brilliant century, Mumbai Indians registered their second win in IPL 2026 on Monday, which came after 4 consecutive defeats. Batting first, Mumbai had scored 199 runs, although at one time the team looked in trouble after falling 3 wickets for 44. Tilak also made a slow start, scoring only 19 runs in 22 balls. A video during the second timeout went viral, in which captain Hardik Pandya was saying something to Tilak. People started guessing that Pandya was angry, he was seen speaking with aggression.

What did Tilak Verma say
After receiving the Player of the Match award, Tilak Verma said, “Every match is now important for us. In the last 5 matches, I did not get a chance to spend much time on the pitch. So in this match, I wanted to spend more time on the pitch. As you saw, in the first 20 balls, I was playing just watching each ball. And then later I was confident in my ability. I would just play keeping calm and sticking to my basics, considering the situation and the need of the team. Stay.”
