Team India has to play the next T20 series against Ireland and England. Even before that, the news of Surya’s removal from captaincy came out.

A report published in the Indian Express said that Suryakumar Yadav has been removed from the post of India’s T20 captain. This makes it clear that now the Men in Blue are going to get a new T20 captain.

The report quoted a BCCI official as saying, “The selection committee, BCCI and the team management, after consulting coach Gautam Gambhir, have decided that India should take the field with a new captain from now on. Under Surya’s captaincy, the team won the T20 World Cup, but keeping in mind his form and future, the team felt that now is the time to move on.”
