US-Iran War Update: The ongoing tension between America and Iran has once again reached an explosive point. Despite ceasefire efforts, the armies of both the countries are face to face in the Strait of Hormuz. After Iran fired missiles at American warships, America retaliated by heavily bombarding Iran’s Qeshm and Bandar Abbas.
Retaliatory action after missile attack in Hormuz Strait
According to the US Central Command (CENTCOM), the US Navy’s guided-missile destroyers were transiting through international maritime routes on May 7, 2026. Meanwhile, Iran attacked with missiles, drones and small fighter boats.
In response to the attack, the US Air Force and Navy destroyed Iranian military bases from where missiles and drones were being launched. In this, command centers and intelligence monitoring centers were targeted.
After this, President Donald Trump termed this action as ‘Love Tap’ and said that our modern destroyer ships destroyed Iranian missiles and drones in the air.
Explosions and air defense active in Iran
According to Iranian news agency Mehr, loud explosions were heard in Hormozgan province, Sirik and Minab city. At the same time, after the attacks, Iran has fully activated the air defense system in its capital Tehran.
Iranian officials have confirmed that the country’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is personally monitoring the war-like situation. Iran has alleged that America had earlier broken the ceasefire by attacking their oil tanker.
After these attacks, the Iranian Army has said that America has also attacked civilian areas and a ‘strong response’ will be given to it. At the same time, the US Central Command has demonstrated its strength by releasing pictures of fighter planes flying from the aircraft carrier USS George A W Bush.
