US-Iran war: It has been 22 days since the ongoing war between America-Israel and Iran, but instead of stopping, the war is becoming more fierce day by day. While rapid attacks by America and Israel are continuing, Iran is also not ready to retreat. Amidst the war, US President Donald Trump has taken another big step. Now America has given temporary permission to Iran to sell about 140 million barrels of oil.
Actually, due to war, oil prices are going out of control in the global market. In such a situation, it is believed that this decision has been taken to keep the prices under control.
America decided to temporarily lift the sanctions imposed on Iranian oil stranded in the sea. These restrictions have been postponed till April 19 by giving special permission for one month from the Trump administration. This will apply to those oil consignments which were loaded into ships till Friday (20 March).
Besant told why the decision was taken?
US Finance Minister Scott Besant clarified the logic behind this decision and said that this will help in reducing the pressure on supply. “Currently, China is hoarding banned Iranian oil at cheap prices,” he said in a post on X. “By temporarily opening this existing supply to the world, the United States will quickly deliver approximately 140 million barrels of oil to global markets, helping to alleviate the temporary supply pressure caused by Iran.”
He further said that this temporary, short-term permission is limited solely to oil that is already in transportation, and it does not allow any new purchases or production. Furthermore, Iran would have difficulty accessing any income it would generate. The United States will continue to maintain maximum pressure on Iran and its ability to access the international financial system.
Mission Iran is nearing completion – Trump
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has made a big announcement saying that Mission Iran is nearing completion. In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, he said that America is very close to achieving its military objectives in the Middle East. Now he is considering bringing his military operations ‘towards the end’.
