Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Sunday issued a stern warning to US President Donald Trump, saying it would completely close the Strait of Hormuz if the US attacks Tehran’s energy facilities.
The warning came just hours after Trump gave Iran a 48-hour ultimatum to open the Strait of Hormuz. In a post on Saturday, Trump warned that if Iran does not completely open the strait within 48 hours, the US will attack their various power plants and completely destroy them.

The IRGC also said that Israel’s power plants, energy infrastructure and information and communications technology “will be extensively targeted”. He also warned of “totally destroying” companies with American shareholders in the region.
In a warning to Gulf countries that host US military bases, the IRGC said they would also be considered “legitimate targets”.
The United States and Israel launched joint airstrikes on Iran on 28 February. This was a massive military operation, which was codenamed by the US as ‘Operation Epic Fury’ and by Israel as ‘Operation Roaring Lion’. Iran retaliated and attacked US military bases located in various countries in the Middle East, including the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. Iran codenamed its retaliation ‘Operation True Promise IV’.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said, “This campaign against American-Zionist terrorist bases and American terrorist bases located in the center of the occupied territories, began with big bangs under the sacred codename ‘Ya Hassan Ibn Ali (Peace be upon him)’.” This war has entered its 23rd day today (22 March).
