Michael Clarke Reveals Terrifying Car Accident: Australia’s former World Cup-winning captain Michael Clarke told how a tragic accident happened to him after the final of IPL 2026. Clark’s car met with an accident. His car went under the truck. During this time, the Australian legend was present in the car as a passenger and he was sleeping. He described the horrifying scene of the entire accident. Clarke was part of the commentary panel in the tournament.
While talking on Beyond 23 Cricket podcast, Clarke told that this accident happened to him while going to the airport after the IPL final. Clarke said, “First of all I would like to thank God for the good people in India. I reached home safely. I fell asleep. I fell asleep after the match, was travelling. I was not driving the car. When I woke up I saw that almost half the front of my car was under a truck.”
The driver told the story
“The driver told me the brake lights on the truck were not working. So my driver hit the truck. It was a semi-trailer and our car went under it. The car was totaled,” Clark said.
Clarke escaped with minor injuries
Clark described how he escaped with minor injuries, while he expected the driver to be seriously injured. Clark said, “I escaped with minor injuries, but I think he (the driver) had a fractured leg. I was very worried because he was very scared. The car was not his, he worked for the company.”

Clarke thanked the BCCI and the local people, saying, “Everyone at the BCCI, the people there were checking on us. I’m very thankful for that. It was a complete accident. Such things happen, but for me it was a hobby because I fell asleep and woke up to find myself under a truck.”
