Sydney shark attack: A shark attacked a woman on Sydney’s famous Coogee Beach in Australia. The condition of the 35-year-old woman is still critical, she is fighting between life and death. A soul-shattering video of this incident has also surfaced. The incident took place on June 13, at 11:15 am Indian time, when the woman was swimming just 30 meters away from the shore, when the shark grabbed her leg and attacked her.
4 meter long white shark attacked – police
According to New South Wales Police and local authorities, a large shark (possibly 3 to 4 meters long and great white in color) bit the woman on her arm and leg. Bystanders, especially Charlie Varcoe, an off-duty lifeguard, immediately helped. He took the woman to the shore and gave first aid. The paramedical team also reached the spot and took care of the woman. After this the woman was taken to the hospital by helicopter from the rugby field.
According to the hospital, the woman’s condition is currently critical. He has deep wounds on his hands and legs and may require several surgeries.
Immediately following the attack Coogee Beach, including Randwick and several beaches in the Eastern Suburbs such as Bondi, Bronte, Tamarama and Maroubra, were closed for 24 hours. The local council said they would be reopened only after a safety check. It is one of several shark incidents in Australia in recent months. Earlier, divers had died in Western Australia and other areas.
