Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is on a tour of three countries: Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. Pakistan is seeking financial help from these countries to repay the debt of UAE. Before reaching Qatar on Thursday, Sharif did such a thing in the plane that now he is being trolled fiercely on social media. Some users made Shahbaz’s video viral and made fun of him.
As soon as he reached Qatar, PAK PM Shahbaz Sharif once again got trolled on social media. The reason became a viral video, in which he is seen saluting Qatar’s fighter jets from inside the plane. During this visit, Qatar Air Force fighter planes took Shehbaz Sharif’s plane under security cover and entered the airspace. Shahbaz, sitting inside the plane, was elated after seeing this and did such a thing that he now became a laughing stock.
In the video going viral on social media, it can be seen that as soon as Sharif’s plane entered Qatar’s airspace, Qatar Air Force fighter jets escorted his plane. Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif was seen standing near the window of the plane and raising his hand to salute the jets. Sharif did not stop here, he started thanking the Emir of Qatar for this welcome from inside the plane.
What did Sharif do inside the plane?
In the video that has gone viral, Sharif is saying, Qatari fighter planes have come to protect our plane as soon as it entered Qatar’s airspace. I am deeply grateful to the Amir of Qatar for this. This is a matter of pride not only for me but for the whole of Pakistan. Now this video is becoming increasingly viral and Sharif is being trolled on social media.
As soon as the video surfaced, users gave many sharp reactions. Many users jokingly wrote, ‘Didn’t even wait for landing, started saluting in the air!’ Some called it ‘overacting’ while others took a political dig. One user wrote, ‘The condition of the country is bad, but the PM is giving the salute in the air.’ Another said, ‘Salute before understanding protocol!’
Sharif doesn’t even know protocol
It is standard protocol for the Qatar Air Force to escort the aircraft of high-level foreign guests with fighter jets. Shehbaz Sharif is the Prime Minister of Pakistan, so it was part of security and respect. But the style of saluting from inside the plane became a subject of humor on social media.
