
The Indian Embassy in Tehran on Tuesday advised Indian citizens present in Iran to remain where they are for the next 48 hours. Stay indoors only. And stay away from electrical and military installations as well as upper floors of multi-storey buildings.
Apart from this, people staying in hotels arranged by the embassy have been asked to remain inside their rooms and maintain constant contact with the teams present there. At the same time, all citizens have been urged to keep a close eye on official updates, as emergency helplines are still operational.
US Embassy alert in Bahrain
The US Embassy in Bahrain has advised Americans to ‘shelter in place’ as it closely monitors the situation in the Middle East. The embassy has directed all US government employees to stay indoors and advised citizens to do the same until further notice.
The embassy has urged people to stay in safe buildings, stay away from windows and keep essential items like food, water and medicines with them. Additionally, the embassy has announced the suspension of all its regular consular services and has asked citizens to keep checking their emails for updates.
‘Situation may go out of control’
Qatar warned on Tuesday that the region was nearing a tipping point where the situation could “spin out of control.”
Asked by US media whether Qatar believed the war could be defused before the US deadline, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said: “We continue to urge all parties to find a solution to this war before the situation gets out of control.”
