An interim memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been officially signed to end the months-long conflict between the US and Iran. US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian signed this agreement. With the agreement, the ongoing war between the two countries has come to an end.

President Trump formally signed the hard copy of the agreement during a dinner with President Emmanuel Macron at the Versailles Palace in France. Copies of the signed agreement have been sent to Iran and the mediating countries. A video of Trump signing the MoU has also surfaced.

Iranian President did digital signature

Iranian President Massoud Pejeshkian also signed the agreement electronically with Iran. Its pictures have also been released by Iranian media. According to Indian time, this agreement came into force immediately after the signing of both the leaders at 5 am on Thursday morning.

Another video of President Trump has surfaced. In which he is seen shouting at the media saying ‘It’s signed’. Trump told reporters he signed the Iran accord at Versailles as he left the palace after dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron. A White House official says a photo of the signed agreement has been sent to Iran and the mediating countries to formally bring the deal into effect.

The war that has been going on for months is over

Earlier on Sunday, US Vice President JD Vance and Iran’s chief negotiator Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf signed the MoU electronically. According to the US administration, this agreement is an important step towards reducing tensions and lasting peace between the two countries. With this, Hormuz, which was closed for months, will also be opened.

However, the meeting of the parties of both the countries is already scheduled in Geneva on Friday. Iranian officials said the purpose of the meeting in Switzerland was not to sign a deal. Now whether this meeting will be held to sign the deal between the two countries or the final decision on this will be taken in the next few hours.
