US Iran War: A fierce war continues between America and Iran. Both sides are not ready to back down. On one hand, America is continuously attacking Iran. At the same time, Iran’s counterattack is also continuing. Amidst the ongoing war in the Middle East, America claims that Iran wants to return to the negotiating table again. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that America is receiving indications of an offer from Tehran for talks through various secret channels. However, he also clarified that there appear to be deep differences within Iran’s top leadership regarding talks.

Iran ready for talks?

In an exclusive interview with CNN, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “We are getting signals through many different channels that Iran wants to come to the negotiating table. But there is a large and growing divide on this issue within the regime.”

Speaking to reporters just before leaving for the Philippines for the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, Rubio accused Iran of disrupting global trade waterways. He said that Iran is trying to blackmail the whole world by making the Strait of Hormuz a strategic shield.

Iran is turning Hormuz into a weapon: Rubio

The US Secretary of State’s statement, “It is clear that some people in Iran want to control this strait and use it as a weapon against the world. The United States will continue to do what is necessary to protect maritime trade, but now other countries will also have to step forward – whether it is by providing military equipment or by making financial contributions.”

Marco Rubio made it clear that America has always been and will continue to be ready for a diplomatic solution, but any agreement must be concrete and effective. He said that they (Iran) cannot expect any Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to exist as long as they are continuously violating its terms.

Rubio and the US administration say that both military pressure and diplomatic talks can go together.

Fierce war continues between America and Iran

Earlier on Sunday (July 19), America carried out rapid air strikes on Iran. This is the ninth consecutive night when American fighter jets and cruise missiles launched a fierce bombardment on Iranian targets. During this period, many areas including the north-western city of Tabriz were targeted. Loud explosions were heard in the southern provinces of Hormozgan and Bushehr. There were several blasts in Chabahar also.

Iran has also responded to America’s attacks. According to reports, Iran had dropped a bomb from a drone in northern Iraq, which did not explode. As soon as American soldiers went to defuse it, there was an explosion and he died. So far 17 American soldiers have lost their lives in this war that started on February 28.
