The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) has reached its halfway stage, 32 matches have been played. In the match held on Wednesday, Rajasthan Royals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs. After this win, RR has taken a huge leap in the points table, while LSG’s path to reach the playoffs has become difficult. Today’s match is between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings (MI vs CSK), know the position of all the teams in the table.
Talking about the match held last night, Rajasthan Royals, batting first, had scored 159 runs. The pitch was proving difficult for the batsmen, where all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played an important inning of 43 runs in 29 balls. Chasing the target, Lucknow Super Giants were bundled out for 119 runs.
Rajasthan Royals reached second place
At number one is Punjab Kings, who have won 5 out of 6 matches and their 1 match has been cancelled. Punjab has 11 points. After the victory, Rajasthan Royals moved from fourth to second position. Rajasthan has won 5 out of 7 matches and lost 2. Riyan Parag and team have 10 points and net run rate of +0.790.
Royal Challengers Bangalore is at third place and Sunrisers Hyderabad is at fourth place. Both have 8-8 points but RCB’s net run rate (+1.171) is better than SRH’s net run rate (+0.820).

Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans have played 6-6 matches, out of which they have won 3-3 and lost the same number. With a net run rate of -0.130, DC is at fifth place and GT (-0.821) is at sixth place.
MI and CSK status
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are in a difficult situation after losing the initial matches, now every match is important for them. Today both the teams will face each other, undoubtedly both are the most successful teams of IPL (5-5 trophies) but in this edition both have looked weak.
MI and CSK have played 6-6 matches, out of which they have won 2-2 and lost 4-4. Mumbai is seventh in the points table with a net run rate of +0.067 and Chennai Super Kings is eighth with a net run rate of -0.780.

Difficult path for LSG and KKR
Lucknow Super Giants came at number 9 in the points table, the team has lost 5 out of 7 matches and won only 2. Lucknow has 4 points and a net run rate of -1.277. Now Lucknow has to win at least 6 out of the next 7 matches.
Kolkata Knight Riders is at the bottom 10th position in the points table. KKR has won only 1 match out of 7 and lost 5 matches. KKR has 3 points and a net run rate of -0.879.
