Hyderabad, April 13 (IANS). Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) won by 57 runs against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 21st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Monday. In this match, SRH gave debut opportunity to two bowlers, who together took 8 wickets.
Prafulla Hinge, making his IPL debut, took three wickets in his very first over. He took 4 wickets for 34 runs in a total of 4 overs. Apart from him, Saqib Hussain took 4 wickets for 24 runs.
On giving debut opportunity to two players against Rajasthan Royals, SRH captain Ishan said, “You also have to see how hungry your young bowlers are, how motivated and how excited they are to play in these matches. They have been working hard the whole season. Constantly working with fielding and our bowling coach Varun Aaron and trying to give their best. And also interacting with the experienced players. That is what we wanted to see and on the home ground. It was important to give him a chance while playing, he also performed well in the practice matches, so I think it was the right decision today.”
Ishan Kishan said, “I am definitely very happy with this win. Getting two points is always special, so I am happy. All we wanted from the bowlers was that they should come here and play openly, implement our plans properly and I think today we did the same. The credit for this goes to all the bowlers.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad, who came to bat first at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, scored 216 runs losing 6 wickets, which included an inning of 91 runs by captain Ishan Kishan. In response, Rajasthan Royals were reduced to 159 runs in 19 overs.
Abhishek Sharma returned to the pavilion on the first ball of this match without opening his account. When Ishan was asked if the team’s score was 25 runs short, the captain said, “I think looking at the current form of our batting unit and the players, we are scoring more than 200 runs in almost every match, but the way Abhishek plays, sometimes he can get out early. Our job is to take the innings deep and play big shots, but let him play freely, because if he gets going, he can change the match and take the team to 260. Or can reach 270.
