Gautam Gambhir Fighting BCCI Inside Enemies: Under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, Team India has won 2 ICC trophies in the form of 2025 Champions Trophy and 2026 T20 World Cup. But despite this, the criticism of Gambhir is not showing signs of diminishing. Now Munaf Patel, former fast bowler of Team India and teammate of Gautam Gambhir, has made a big claim and said that Gambhir is fighting the enemies within the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI.
Let us tell you that all kinds of allegations are made against Gambhir, which also includes the Test retirement of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. It is said that due to Gambhir, both the greats were forced to take retirement from Test cricket. So let us know what Munaf Patel said about Gambhir.
Team India needs Gautam Gambhir
Speaking on Times of India’s Bombay Sports Exchange podcast, Munaf Patel said, “Remember, if a head coach like Gautam Gambhir is removed, it will become more difficult to handle the players. He is a genuine person. He tells the truth exactly as it is and that’s what a lot of people don’t like. Gambhir is the only person who is handling the players. Apart from him, no other coach will handle the players because he loves cricket, not money.”

Munaf Patel further said, “If Gambhir steps down even after 3 years, you will see that things will get more complicated because he can control. Everyone knows that if something goes wrong, he has the courage to drop players. The coach should have control. He cannot be friends. If he is a friend, you are spoiling the system.”
Munaf further said, “There should be fear. Think about this – how many enemies is Gambhir making while doing his work. 8 out of 10 people in the commentary panel are against him. 4 out of 5 selectors will be against him. But still he does his work.”
