Indonesia Earthquake: A strong earthquake occurred in Indonesia early this morning. The earthquake caused panic among the people. The intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 6.7 on the Richter scale.
According to the information, a massive earthquake of 6.7 magnitude occurred on Sulawesi island of Indonesia on Tuesday morning, due to which tremors were felt in the entire area. Strong aftershocks were felt after this strong earthquake. The earthquake caused panic among the people.
The center was at a depth of 46 kilometers
According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of this earthquake was located about 46 kilometers south-east of Palu. Geographically it was recorded at 1.073° south latitude and 120.263° east longitude, while its depth underground was measured at 45 kilometers.
NCS said that this earthquake occurred at 08:57 am (local time), due to which buildings started shaking and panic spread among the people. People got scared and came out of their homes. In the pictures from Palu, people can be seen gathering in open spaces.
In the video that surfaced, people can be seen running out of the building. There was an outcry on the spot. Scared people are seen protecting themselves by lifting their chairs. While many people held each other’s hands tightly. This horrific scene has given rise to concern.
