Batting first, Chennai Super Kings have scored 192 runs. For CSK, Sanju Samson and Ayush Mhatre scored 48 runs and 38 runs respectively, but senior players like captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dubey proved to be miserable flops. Sanju Samson and Ruturaj Gaikwad started the innings for Chennai, but captain Gaikwad’s poor form is not showing any signs of ending. Gaikwad was out after scoring only 7 runs. Sanju Samson and Ayush Mhatre together added 47 runs. Mhatre played a short but stormy innings of 48 runs in 17 balls.
Samson missed fifty and was out after scoring 48 runs. Dewald Brevis scored 41 runs in 29 balls. Sarfaraz Khan is getting the start in almost every match, but has failed to convert it into big innings. Against Kolkata he scored 23 runs in 18 balls.
Batting power came out in death overs
At one time Chennai Super Kings had scored 162 runs at the loss of 3 wickets till the 16th over. There were 7 wickets in hand and a score of 210-220 seemed completely possible for CSK. Then Sarfaraz Khan’s wicket fell on the first ball of the 17th over. It was from here that Chennai’s run rate got braked. In his next over, Karthik Tyagi prevented Dewald Brevis from completing his fifty.
The 19th over was bowled by Vaibhav Arora who bowled 9 balls to complete the over, out of which 3 were wide. Despite this, Chennai batsmen could score only 9 runs in this over. Shivam Dubey’s bat remained completely silent. Due to this, CSK team could add only 30 runs in the last 4 overs.
