President Donald Trump claimed in an interview with US media that he prevented Iran from taking over the Middle East, and also said that the Gulf countries were not expected to be attacked during the war.
He also said that Iran would have had a nuclear bomb within a month and he stopped that from happening.
“They were going to take over the Middle East, and we stopped them,” Trump said in an interview. He claimed that his country’s strikes on Iranian nuclear sites last summer prevented this from happening.
The President also said that if America had not attacked Iran last year, Tehran would have attacked the entire Middle East countries within a few weeks. He also again criticized the Obama administration’s 2015 Iran deal.
‘Nuclear bomb within a month…’
Trump said, “They would have had nuclear weapons within a month, maybe within two weeks, and they would have used them on Israel and the Middle East. And they would have used them on us, and not just on Israel, but also on countries like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, who were shocked after the attack.” He was referring to Tehran’s retaliatory attacks on Gulf countries after the US and Israel launched the Iran War on February 28.
He said, “You know, these countries were not expected to be attacked, because they were targeting those countries. They were going to take over the Middle East, and we stopped them.”
