The US launched several attacks on Iran’s missile and air defense systems and targeted IRGC small speedboats at several locations around the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iran’s state broadcaster IRIB, several explosions were heard near Iran’s Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz.
The semi-official Fars news agency reported that explosions were also heard near the Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas.
America had attacked earlier also on Sunday
President Donald Trump said on Sunday that America attacked Iran very strongly last night. Trump said during an interview, there is something wrong with these people.
“Just yesterday we had a deal with them. They were ready to drop everything, and then suddenly, just two hours later, they attacked the ship with a drone,” he said.
The US military said it targeted 140 Iranian military targets in its latest strikes. These attacks were carried out after the attack on a commercial ship passing through Hormuz, for which the US held Iran’s ‘Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ responsible.
Attack on Kuwait Oil Company
On the other hand, Kuwait’s Defense Ministry said on Sunday that three land border posts in the north of the country were damaged in a hostile, criminal attack, while an offshore drilling rig of Kuwait Oil Company was also attacked by an enemy drone.
According to a statement by the ministry’s official spokesman, Staff Colonel Saud Abdulaziz al-Atwan, the attacks caused material damage. An employee was injured in a drone attack on an offshore drilling rig located in Kuwait’s maritime zone. The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said that the armed forces are fully prepared and are taking all necessary measures and precautions to maintain the security of the country and the security of its territories.
The incidents came as Iran said it attacked several US military bases in the Gulf region early Sunday. According to Iranian state media, the attack was carried out in response to recent attacks by the US. Earlier on Sunday, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it carried out attacks on several Gulf countries, including Kuwait. It used ‘loitering drones’ to target US military assets, including the Patriot air defense system.
