US President Donald Trump has once again made obscene remarks about Italy’s PM Georgia Meloni. She wrote on her social media platform Truth Social that according to her popularity in Italy, she is doing a very poor job.

Trump wrote on social media, “At the G-7 meeting in France, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni repeatedly asked to have my photo taken with me. Her popularity in Italy is declining, perhaps because she refused to side with the US when it came to preventing Iran from acquiring or building nuclear weapons (although NATO did the same!). She wouldn’t even let us use Italy’s landing strips or runways, which made logistics extremely difficult.” Problem is, America spends billions of dollars every year to protect Italy and other “so-called” NATO allies. Now, after America has defeated Iran militarily, it wants to be friends again to “boost its popularity!!!”
Earlier, Meloni had wasted no time in responding to Trump’s comments and had clearly rejected his version of the incident. He said, “Donald Trump’s statements are completely fabricated. I am really shocked. I do not understand why the American President behaves like this with his allies: and yes, this is not the first time.”
She also took aim at Trump’s attitude toward America’s rivals, saying, “All I can say is that it is disappointing that he does not show the same firmness toward the West and America’s enemies; in fact, he is much more lenient with their leaders.”
Concluding his response with a strong message, Meloni said, “They should remember one thing – neither I nor Chris ever bow to anyone.”
The controversy started when Trump himself mentioned Meloni in a short interview given to an Italian channel. According to the channel’s translation, Trump claimed that the Italian Prime Minister wanted to get photographed with him at the G7 summit. Trump said, “Maybe she’s glad I talked to her. I didn’t need to talk to her. She asked me to take a photo with her. She was very eager to take a photo with me. I don’t take photos, but I felt sorry for her.”
