Iran confirmed on Friday that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei was present at the building that was bombed during the Iran war. Ayatollah Mohsen Qomi, a member of the Assembly of Experts and deputy in-charge of international affairs of the Supreme Leader’s Office, dismissed rumors about Khamenei’s health, saying he was completely healthy. According to Fars News Agency, Qomi said that Mojtaba Khamenei was in the building that was bombed during the conflict that started on February 28, where others (Ali Khamenei) were martyred.
But just minutes before the explosion, by the grace of Allah he had gone into the courtyard, which saved his life. “He was in the same building that was bombed and where others were martyred. Just before the explosion, by the will of Allah, he went out into the courtyard. May Allah keep him safe,” Qomi said. He further said, “He is now completely healthy and is actively conducting the affairs. He is personally monitoring the negotiations and regional operations. Recently he gave special instructions to the negotiating team on what steps to take in different situations.”
Iran condemned rumors regarding health
“Some people ask about the health of our Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. This is a ploy of the enemy. They want to say why he is not present? Why he does not send any audio or video messages? Why do those who have met him not come forward and talk? They want to use these questions to force us to respond, so that they can serve their purposes,” he said, according to Fars News Agency.
‘He is the proof of God on earth’
Comey said that despite the injuries, Iranian officials are now focusing on saving the supreme leader’s life. He said, “The most important issue for us right now is to help save the life of His Eminence (Honorable) Leader, who is the ‘Proof of God’ on earth at this time. And I assure you that despite the injuries he suffered there, Almighty God has preserved him as a priceless heritage for the Shia community.”
The statement had come earlier also
Earlier, Iran’s representative in India Mohammad Hossain Zianiya had also said that the condition of the Supreme Leader is fine. He had told that according to the recent information received, his health is good. A New York Times report claimed that Mujhbata Khamenei was less visible in public after the airstrike on February 28. The report also said that some of his family members were killed in that attack and after this their security has been increased. Only a limited number of people are able to reach him, which includes the medical team.
