After Donald Trump rejected Tehran’s latest proposal, Iran’s Navy Commander Shahram Irani said the country will soon introduce a new weapon that its adversaries are “very much afraid of”.
He warned that Iran would “very soon” face its enemies with a weapon that “will absolutely belong to them,” adding, “I hope they don’t have a heart attack.” His words came to light amid increasing tension and heated debate between the two sides.
Iran rejects claims of early victory, emphasizes attacks
The Iranian army also rejected the enemy’s hope of a quick victory. According to Irani, “The enemy thought that in the shortest possible time, say within three days to a week, it could reach a conclusion in the war against Iran, and their thinking has become a joke in military universities.”
He further claimed that Iran’s armed forces have launched at least 100 waves of retaliatory strikes against American and Israeli targets since February 28. He said that these attacks were carried out targeting “sensitive” places in a large area of West Asia.
“If America’s obstinacy and confusion continue and Iran’s conditions are rejected, the enemy should soon expect a different kind of response,” Irani warned.
Talks are still stalled, America’s presence is increasing
Iran also accused the US of increasing its military presence during the conflict. He said additional destroyers and missile platforms were dispatched after initial naval strikes failed to achieve their objectives. “Despite this, they are still stuck,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, efforts to end the dispute are still stalled. Iran had suggested that talks about its nuclear program be postponed until the conflict ends and maritime disputes are resolved. However, Washington insisted that nuclear issues should be resolved from the beginning, due to which the talks are still at an impasse.
