
A repost by the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai has caught the attention of the internet. The post carried a politically sensitive message, while also being an innocuous compliment to India.
This post was actually shared by another user on ‘X’, and its main topic was the Israel-Palestine conflict. But, seeing the manner in which the Consulate reshared it, the users of ‘X’ started feeling that the administrator of this account was probably an Indian.
The Iranian Consulate in Mumbai wrote, “This is why we love India; a land where philosophers debated under trees, mathematicians invented the zero, and knowledge was basically a lifestyle. And brother, here you get knowledge and swag too.”
Trump’s blockade also made fun of
The official social media account of the Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad has used a metaphor of the digital age to address this geopolitical crisis, sharply criticizing the US naval blockade. “The Strait of Hormuz is not social media. If someone blocks you, you can’t just block them back,” he wrote.
