Iran’s military has warned that if the US continues the blockade of its ports, it could stop maritime traffic in the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and Red Sea.
Semi-official news agency Mehr News Agency quoted Major General Ali Abdullahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, as saying that if the US blockade continues and “creates insecurity for Iranian merchant ships and oil tankers,” Iran could impose a blockade of the Persian Gulf, Oman Sea and the Red Sea.

The agency quoted him as saying, “If the aggressive and terrorist US continues its illegal actions of maritime blockade in the region and creates insecurity for Iranian merchant ships and oil tankers, this action will be considered the beginning of a violation of the ceasefire; and Iran’s powerful armed forces will not allow any kind of import-export to continue in the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman and the Red Sea. Iran will do its best to safeguard its national sovereignty and interests. Will take action.”
What did Trump say on this blockade?
When Donald Trump was asked on American media whether he was pleased with the response to the American blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas in the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said, “It’s been really great; I thought it would be.”
“They’ve responded to this as well. I think, you know, we’ve completely destroyed them, and this response seems to be even bigger than any previous response,” Trump said. Trump said he thinks America is “doing very well.” He said, “But all that matters is the final result, and it may come very soon, who knows.”
