Yemen’s Houthi rebels have entered this war by launching missile attacks on Israel. At the same time, the Israeli army says that it is ready for “war on many fronts”.
Let us tell you that on Saturday, Houthi rebels fired two missiles towards southern Israel, one of which was ballistic. This was their first attempt to target Israel since the conflict began on 28 February. Both the missiles were stopped midway.
On Sunday, Israel Defense Forces international spokesman Nadav Shoshani said, “We have prepared to fight simultaneously on many fronts. For the last two and a half years, we have been fighting a war on many fronts simultaneously, amid threats from many different fronts.”
Shoshani further said, “We have to be prepared for the fact that this can also become a part of this war, and that’s how we are preparing for it. We are taking their words seriously and are preparing to defend ourselves from that front as long as necessary. We will shoot down every missile coming from there in the sky.”
The Houthis are close allies of the Islamic regime in Tehran. “Our Yemeni people respond to loyalty with loyalty, and Iran was the only country that, officially, supported us against the attack on our country,” their leader Abdel-Malik al-Houthi said on Thursday.
