President Donald Trump says a missing soldier whose F-15 jet was destroyed over Iran is now safe. He was rescued by a US military rescue operation in which dozens of aircraft were used.
More information about this is still coming out. But, experts believe that this was an operation which ‘no other country in the whole world except America could have carried out.’ It is being told that the crew member had contacted the army on Friday morning.
Five people were killed in strikes during a US-led operation to rescue a pilot on Friday, Iranian media reported. At the same time, according to Tasnim News Agency, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards say that many American planes were destroyed during the American mission.
After Iran’s police command claimed that a US C-130 aircraft was shot down south of Isfahan, the group said, “During a joint operation (aerospace, army, Basij and police commands), enemy aircraft were destroyed.”
A spokesman for Khatam al-Anbia Central Headquarters, the unified command of the Iranian armed forces, said the downed planes included a C-130 military transport aircraft and two Black Hawk helicopters. Earlier on Sunday, Iran’s military also said it had shot down an Israeli drone in the same province.
However, US media say that the US military flew its own C-130 transport planes when they were stuck at an airport and did not want those planes to fall into Iranian hands.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “We rescued him! My fellow Americans, over the past few hours, the United States military successfully conducted one of the most daring ‘search and rescue missions’ in American history. This mission was for one of our extraordinary crew members, a highly decorated colonel, and I am extremely pleased to tell you that he is now safe and well!”
