ताइवान की चर्चा पर शी जिनपिंग ने दी टकराव की चेतावनी, डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने दिया व्हाइट हाउस आने का निमंत्रण

An important bilateral summit was held between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing on 14 May 2026. In this meeting, both the leaders emphasized on keeping bilateral relations stable, but China’s strict warning on the Taiwan issue gave a serious turn to the discussion.

Chinese President Xi Jinping clearly said that the Taiwan issue is the most sensitive and important aspect of the relations between the two countries. He warned that if this issue is not handled properly, there could be a confrontation or conflict between the two countries, which will jeopardize the entire relationship. Xi Jinping said that conflict between a rising power and an established power should be avoided.

In contrast, Trump praised Xi Jinping, calling him a ‘great leader’ and ‘friend’. He said that US-China relations will be better than ever. After the meeting, both the leaders visited the Temple of Heaven and a state banquet was organized, where there was a positive atmosphere.

Trade, tariffs and economic cooperation were also discussed in this talk. America wants better access for its businessmen in the Chinese market and more investment from China. In the context of the Iran war, both sides agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open, as it is an important route for oil and gas. China is the largest buyer of Iranian oil, so the US is appealing to Beijing to use its influence on Iran.

China angry about Taiwan

The Trump administration has planned to sell arms to Taiwan, on which China is angry. America says that there has been no change in Taiwan policy and trying to occupy it by force would be wrong. The meeting was followed by a grand welcome ceremony, which included a gun salute, the national anthem and flag-waving school children. However, analysts believe that there was more symbolism in this visit, while there is less hope for concrete agreements.

Trump also announced Xi’s visit to America, which may take place in September. Emphasizing on cooperation, both the leaders said that both the countries should be partners, not rivals. This summit is important at the global level, as US-China relations affect the world economy, security and trade.
