The situation has worsened again after Iran opened fire on a Cypriot-flagged ship passing through the Strait of Hormuz. In response to these attacks, the US Army carried out a massive bombardment on many cities of Iran throughout the night on Saturday. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that this action has been taken in response to the attack on a commercial container ship in Hormuz.
America’s Defense Minister threatened Iran
US Defense Minister Pete Hegseth has given a big threat to Iran in his latest post on social media. On the third round of US military strikes against Iran, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth tweeted, “Iran made a wrong decision. Now they will have to pay the price.” At the same time, Iran has retaliated and accused America of not following the terms of the peace agreement.
America took revenge for the attack on the ship in Hormuz
Following the IRGC attack on the Cyprus-flagged container ship, M/V GFS Galaxy, in the Strait of Hormuz, US Central Command (CENTCOM) forces launched a third round of strikes against Iran, CENTCOM wrote in its X post confirming the attack on Iran. These attacks are being carried out on the instructions of the Commander-in-Chief (CENTCOM). One civilian crew member is missing and the ship is heavily damaged following the Iranian attack.
Iran accused of breaking agreement terms
At the same time, Iran has accused America of breaking the agreement terms. The official According to the MoU, Iran had agreed to arrange safe passage of commercial ships from the Persian Gulf to the Sea of Oman without any charges for 60 days.
Iran has made it clear that no ship will be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz until the US intervention completely ends. Also warned that any retaliatory action will be given a strong and immediate response.
