The speaker of Iran’s parliament said that the country’s forces are waiting for American troops. He accused America of secretly planning a ground attack while talking about talks.
In his statement on the 30th day of the US-Israeli war with Iran, Mohammad Baqir Ghalibaf, who has emerged as one of the most prominent voices within the country, said that by proposing talks, the US was hoping to achieve through negotiations what it had “failed to achieve” through war.
‘Waiting for American troops to land’
Ghalibaf said, “The enemy is openly sending communication messages, while secretly planning ground attacks. They have no idea that our troops are waiting for American troops to land, to wreak havoc on them and punish their regional allies forever.”
He added, “The United States talks about its aspirations, and presents a 15-point list to achieve through diplomacy what it failed to achieve in war.”
The Speaker of Parliament gave this warning
Ghalibaf said in a challenging tone, “As long as the Americans continue to expect Iran’s surrender, the answer to your sons is clear: ‘It is impossible for us to accept an insult.'”
This comes at a time when Pakistan is hosting talks today between the foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, aimed at reducing war tensions. Meanwhile, the USS Tripoli, carrying 3,500 American troops, has arrived in the Middle East, according to US Central Command, while the Pentagon considers its next steps.
