A senior Israeli official said that Israel’s intelligence assessment is that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was lightly injured in the Israeli-US strike against Iran and that is why he has not been seen in public.
Israeli media, quoting American media, today reported that Khamenei was injured in his legs on the first day of the war. The Iranian president’s son later said he was safe and well.
What did President Masood’s son say?
Yusuf Pejeshkian, a government adviser and son of Iranian President Massoud, posted on his Telegram channel that he had asked friends in touch with Khamenei about his injury. “He said by the grace of God he is safe and there is no problem,” Pejeshkian said.
On March 9, a report by The Times of Israel said that Iranian state television, while covering Mojtaba Khamenei’s inauguration as Supreme Leader, described him as wounded in battle. The anchors read reports describing him as a ‘jambaz’ in the ‘Ramadan war’, which means wounded by the enemy, the term Iranian media uses for the ongoing fighting. The report did not provide further details about the nature or extent of his injuries.
Donald Trump said- He will not be there for long…
On the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei, US President Donald Trump said that Iran has elected its new Supreme Leader without US approval. Now we will see what happens next. I won’t let this continue for long either.
