US on Strait of Hormuz: There has been tension in the Middle East for the last one month due to the ongoing war between Iran and Israel. On one hand, Tehran is not ready to bow down, while on the other hand, there is no hope from America either. Meanwhile, a major strategy of Donald Trump has come to light that he is preparing to take back his control over the Gulf of Hormuz.
US Finance Minister Scott Besant gave a big statement in an interview to Fox News, saying that America will soon regain control over the Strait of Hormuz, which will provide freedom of navigation on one of the world’s most important oil routes.
Many countries are forced to cross the strait – Besant
Besant said that America will have control over the Strait of Hormuz through American ships or joint ships of many countries. He also stressed that the supply of oil in the market is good. We are seeing more and more ships passing through every day, because different countries are currently forced to make agreements with the Iranian administration to allow their ships to pass through the strait. But over time the US will take complete control of the strait and ensure freedom of safe passage for ships there.
Why has concern increased regarding the Strait of Hormuz?
This statement of the US Finance Minister has come amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia, when due to this, global concern regarding the Strait of Hormuz has increased significantly. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important sea lanes in the world. About one-fifth of the global oil trade passes through this narrow route. In such a situation, this strategy of Trump can have a massive impact on the global oil markets.
‘Iran does not occupy the Strait of Hormuz…’
On the other hand, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also said in clear words on Monday that Donald Trump will not allow Iran to have control over the Strait of Hormuz forever. The US will achieve its target in a few weeks.
Rubio tells ABC News that America is even destroying Iran’s navy and missile launchers. Their defense industrial base will be completely wiped out, so that they will not be able to make new missiles or drones in the future.
US President has many options – Rubio
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he said that Trump has many options. If Iran tries to take over the Gulf, America will not sit idly by and will take action to stop it. Iran has rejected American claims. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Bagahei says that America’s talks and diplomacy are not credible. It repeatedly changed its position, while Iran’s stance has always been clear.
Trump again warned Iran
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has warned Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz in a post on Truth Social on Monday. “The United States is engaged in serious negotiations with a ‘new and wiser’ regime to end our military operations in Iran,” he wrote. There has been a lot of progress, but if for whatever reason an agreement is not reached soon – although it is very likely that an agreement will be reached – and if the Strait of Hormuz is not immediately ‘opened for trade’, then we will end our ‘lovely stay’ in Iran by bombing all their power plants, oil wells and Kharg Island (and probably all their water purification plants too!); Which we have not yet knowingly ‘touched’. This will be revenge for the deaths of many of our soldiers and others who were brutally killed by Iran during the old regime’s 47-year ‘reign of terror’.
