Thailand-Cambodia Ceasefire: By the end of 2025, a bloody war has stopped. Ceasefire has now been signed after months of war between Thailand and Cambodia. This announcement was made in a joint statement issued by the Defense Ministers of both the countries on Saturday, December 27.

Even before this there has been ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia. However, in December 2025, the ceasefire between the two countries was again broken and clashes started.

There will be a ban on the use of all types of weapons

Thailand’s Defense Minister Natthapon Nakpanich and Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Tee Sia signed the ceasefire agreement at a border checkpoint in Thailand’s Chanthaburi province. In a statement issued by Cambodia regarding the ceasefire, it was said that both sides have decided that there will be a ban on the use of all types of weapons during this period. This includes any attacks on civilians, civilian targets, infrastructure and military targets. This ceasefire will be applicable in all areas and in every situation.

Both countries will maintain the existing military deployment

At the same time, in the statement issued by the Defense Ministers of Thailand and Cambodia, it has been said that after the ceasefire, both the countries will maintain the existing military deployment. There will be no additional military activity or increase in troops during this period. Any kind of military reinforcement will increase tensions and will harm efforts for a long-term solution.

Earlier, tension on the border between the two countries had increased again. In December the ceasefire was broken and fighting between Thailand and Cambodia started again. Many people lost their lives in the conflict that continued for 20 days. Also, more than 5 lakh people living in the areas bordering the two countries were forced to leave their homes.

What is the dispute between Thailand and Cambodia?
