
Strong earthquake tremors were felt in Iran on Thursday, February 19. This earthquake in southern Iran created panic among the people. A massive earthquake occurred in South Iran on Thursday. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 5.5 on the Richter scale. According to the German Geological Research Center, the earthquake struck around 7:13 a.m. Iran local time, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Earthquake hits Iran amidst tension with America
According to the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ), the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 36 kilometers south-west of the city of Mohr in Fars province. The depth of the earthquake was only 10 kilometers, due to which the tremors were felt very strong and people came out of their homes. Many people initially thought that there was an attack or explosion, because amidst the increasing military tension with America in the region, there is also talk of nuclear testing in some areas, although this is not officially confirmed at the moment.
So far, there has been no official report of any loss of life or property or casualties due to the earthquake. This earthquake occurred on the first day of Ramzan, due to which there was an atmosphere of panic among the people. The administration has appealed to the people to remain calm and trust the official information. The situation is being monitored.
