
A case of murder of another Hindu youth has come to light in Bangladesh. It is being told that a Hindu youth was shot dead in public in Manirampur, Jessore.
The brutal incident took place around 5:45 pm on Monday evening in Kapaliya Bazaar area of Union No. 17 of the upazila. The deceased has been identified as Rana Pratap (45), a resident of Arua village in Keshabpur upazila and son of Tusharkanti Bairagi.
It is learned that at around 5:45 pm on Monday, an unknown person opened fire on Rana Pratap. He died on the spot after being shot.
According to police sources, when Rana Pratap was present in the market, some unknown assailants opened fire on him. He was shot several times and died on the spot. There is an atmosphere of fear and chaos in the area after the firing. Policemen from Manirampur police station reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
Confirming the incident, officer-in-charge Rajiullah Khan said, “We are at the spot. Preparations are underway to recover the body and conduct post-mortem.” Investigation has been started to identify and arrest the attackers. Let us tell you that this murder is the fifth such violent incident in Bangladesh in the last three weeks.
Earlier, another Hindu was attacked by a mob in Bangladesh. Khokan Das, 50, was brutally beaten with sharp weapons, stabbed and then doused with petrol and set on fire. This horrific incident took place on December 31 in Shariatpur district. According to reports, Khokan Das was going home by bus when the mob surrounded him, attacked him, beat him unconscious and tried to burn him alive.
