Israel has recently shared important intelligence information with America. According to which Iran is preparing a new conspiracy to assassinate US President Donald Trump. This information has been given by Wall Street Journal (WSJ) quoting its sources.
According to the report, Israeli intelligence agencies told American officials that Iran is working on a new plan, which is against Trump. This information comes amid recent strained relations between Israel and the US, especially during the ongoing conflict and ceasefire with Iran.
However, according to Israeli TV channel, Channel 12, two US officials said that the information provided by Israel was related to general discussion among Iranian officials to assassinate Trump, and not to any concrete or major plan. According to officials, Israel may have shared this information to improve relations between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Trump and to influence America’s Iran policy.
Officials also said that Israel has given such information to America several times in the last one year about the plans of Iran and its associated terrorist groups.
“We will kill Trump.”
Iran has been openly threatening to assassinate Trump since 2020. It all started after the assassination of Iranian General Qasim Suleimani by the US in 2020. Recently, slogans and banners demanding Trump’s assassination were also raised at the condolence ceremonies of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
During the funeral ceremony for Ali Khamenei and his family members on July 4, several messages were scrawled on a wall near the Imam Khomeini Mosallah Grand Mosque, one of which read in English, “We will kill Trump.” Apart from this, he was seen in the last journey on the poster of “We Will Kill Trump”.
Trump’s security increased
Referring to these threats, Trump recently said, “I’m on every list. This morning I saw, I’m on every list. I’ve been a little lucky so far, but that probably won’t last much longer.”
Trump attended the NATO summit in Türkiye this week. While returning from there, he used the old plane instead of the new Air Force One. This change was made on the advice of the US Secret Service for security reasons, although Trump described it as a reminder of the old days.
This development has come amid increasing tension between America and Iran. Recently, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between the two countries, which included keeping the Strait of Hormuz toll-free for 60 days. But after the recent attacks, Trump has declared this agreement over, while the White House has still indicated to continue trying for a solution.
