Strait of Hormuz: Israeli media reported that an Indian oil tanker has been turned back from the Omani Corridor in the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, Reuters reported that at least four oil and gas tankers were stopped from trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
This happened when US President Donald Trump has announced to completely end the ongoing ceasefire with Iran. Meanwhile, Trump has made it clear that talking to Iran is now just a waste of time for America.
Tension increases again in the Strait of Hormuz
Breaking the ceasefire with the US, Iran begins attacking commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. In response to attacks on ships transiting this vital international waterway, US Central Command launched a series of attacks on the Middle East country. The US said that Iran’s attack is unnecessary, dangerous and a clear violation of the ceasefire.
At the same time, in response to the US attacks, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards launched missile and drone attacks targeting US military bases in Bahrain and Kuwait, after which tension has once again increased between the two countries. At the same time, the threat to gas tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz has increased even more.
Amid the attacks and counter-attacks, US President Donald Trump has announced that the ceasefire with Iran has ended. ‘For me, I think it’s over,’ Trump said. I don’t want to deal with the Iranians. They’re mean people, they’re sick people. They are led by sick people and they are dangerous, violent people.
He further said, ‘Last night we attacked very dangerous people of Iran very strongly, there is something wrong with them. We said, go and perform your last rites and instead they started firing rockets at the ships yesterday. That’s why we hit them very hard last night.
What did the US Central Command say?
The US President has called further talks with Iran a “waste of time”. Meanwhile, on behalf of the US Central Command, it was said that ‘US Central Command forces have started several powerful attacks against Iran. “These attacks have been carried out to target and attack commercial ships carrying innocent civilians on an international waterway, with a heavy price to pay.”
