Once again there has been great tension between Iran and America. US President Donald Trump had given an ultimatum to Iran not to violate the ceasefire. Amidst all this, Iran’s army IRGC has claimed that it has carried out a major missile and drone attack on 8 US military bases. Iran says that this attack is a response to the new aggression by America, and it has called it a ‘decisive response’.
Before this, America has launched a major attack on Iran in the early hours of Sunday for the second consecutive day. After the attack on Iran’s missile and drone facilities, Trump accused Iran of ceasefire violation. Also threatened to erase Iran from the map.
What did IRGC say about the attack?
Naval and aerospace units of IRGC have jointly carried out this operation. This was said to be revenge for the recent American attacks inside Iran. “Eight critical US military targets were destroyed at Ali al-Salem Base in Kuwait and the Fifth Fleet Naval Base in Port Salman, Bahrain,” the Guards said in a statement.
“Any aggression by the enemy, whatever its pretext, and even if it is against minor targets… will be met with a befitting reply,” the Guards said. According to the IRGC, the attack was in response to US military action on Saturday that targeted Iran’s missile and drone depots as well as coastal radar facilities.
Kuwait stopped missiles and drones
Kuwait’s military said its air defense systems intercepted enemy missiles and drones from entering its airspace. Air raid sirens were sounded across the country. While Bahrain also played warning sirens as a precaution. There was no immediate statement from US officials on whether there was any damage to the targeted military targets or any casualties.
A Singapore commercial ship has been attacked by a drone in Hormuz State after it disobeyed Iran’s instructions. America started attacks on Iran’s military bases. In response, Iran has also fired missiles and drones at American military bases in the Gulf.
