
Venezuela Earthquake: The earth is shaking once again amid the devastation caused by the devastating earthquake in Venezuela. Earthquake tremors were felt again in Venezuela on Saturday (June 27). On June 24, two devastating earthquakes occurred in Venezuela, causing massive devastation. Its intensity was measured at 7.1 and 7.5 on the Richter scale. Due to these strong earthquakes, many big buildings collapsed like cards.
This proved to be the most powerful earthquake in the country in the last 125 years. This cataclysmic disaster shook the entire country. Buildings folded like paper, many entire settlements turned into piles of debris and the dreams of thousands of families turned into ashes. So far 920 people have died, while hundreds of others are injured. Thousands of people are still reported missing. The struggle to find loved ones under the debris continues. The death toll is expected to increase further.
According to the Venezuelan government, the number of missing persons may exceed 50,000. Relief and rescue operations are going on at a fast pace.
India has launched humanitarian assistance operations to assist the affected population. Under this initiative, a special disaster relief mission named ‘Operation Amistad’ is being run, in which the emphasis is on providing immediate medical facilities. A 41-member medical team from the 60 Para Field Hospital of the Indian Army has been sent to Venezuela. This team includes nine skilled military doctors. This team has left in two special aircraft of the Indian Air Force.
This medical unit will reach the earthquake affected areas and provide immediate emergency medical care, treatment of seriously injured, surgical procedures, trauma care and intensive care services to the needy. This effort of India is a symbol of solidarity with the people of Venezuela and standing shoulder to shoulder with them in this hour of crisis.
