The court has ordered 74 lashes each for Parastu as well as 8 other members of the production team working with him. The court says that he has given obscene content. Apart from this, Parastu has also been completely banned from going out of the country and attending any kind of event or concert for the next two years.

The entire controversy is about an online concert held in December 2024. 29 year old Parastu Ahmed gave a live performance on YouTube. In this concert, he sang the patriotic song ‘Aaj Khune Jawanane Watan’, which was attended by lakhs of people.
In this performance, the singer did not wear hijab but wore a sleeveless dress. Since then she kept getting into trouble. Iranian officials described her wearing a sleeveless dress as a violation of the law. Seeing the controversy escalating, Iranian authorities took Singer and his team into custody.
