Pakistan Claim Exposed: Pakistan has once again faced a major diplomatic embarrassment on the international stage. Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had made a big claim on social media regarding an important peace deal between Iran and America, which Iran itself has exposed.

However, Iran has immediately rejected this claim and made it clear that no such deal is going to be signed on Sunday (June 14). In such a situation, this attempt by Pakistan to take credit before time has once again made it a laughing stock on the global stage.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry raised questions
On this hasty claim of the Pakistani Prime Minister, a very measured but tough stand has come from Iran’s side. Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has issued an official statement raising questions on Shehbaz Sharif’s claims.
The Iranian spokesperson clarified that the possibility of signing the ‘Islamabad Memorandum’ in the coming days cannot be completely ruled out, but it is too early to give any fixed date or time for it. After this statement of Iran, there is clearly contradiction and lack of coordination in the official statements of both the countries, due to which Shehbaz Sharif’s claims are being proved false.
Shahbaz Sharif’s hopes dashed
Before the denial from Iran, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif seemed very enthusiastic about the possible agreement. He had written in his post that they have come very close to the peace deal and everything is expected to be finalized in the next 24 hours, immediately after which Pakistan is ready to electronically sign it.
Not only this, he had also thanked America and Iran ahead of time for taking the talks forward. Sharif had hoped that this historic peace deal would form a strong foundation for lasting peace in the region, but Iran’s stance has deflated his claims.
Iran advised to be careful in talks
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghai clearly said through government media that in view of the hesitation and skepticism of the other side (America), extreme caution and maturity should be taken in issuing statements regarding any date of signing this deal. At the international level, in such sensitive matters, announcing dates without any concrete consensus is not considered diplomatically correct.
