
Terrorist Hamza Burhan, the mastermind of Pulwama attack, has been eliminated. An unknown assailant shot him in the head in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), resulting in his death. According to security agencies, he was involved in anti-India terrorist activities for a long time and was counted among the prominent faces who pushed the youth towards radicalism in South Kashmir.
It is being told that Hamza Burhan was associated with a Pakistan-based terrorist network and was considered to have an important role in the conspiracy of Pulwama attack. The Pulwama attack took place on 14 February 2019 in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred. This attack shocked the entire country and after this India targeted the hideouts of terrorists by carrying out Balakot airstrike.
According to sources, Hamza Burhan was the target of security agencies for a long time. His murder has taken place at a time when incidents of mysterious attacks on many people associated with terrorist organizations and fundamentalist networks are continuously coming to light in Pakistan. In recent years, many terrorists have either died in gang wars or have been targeted by unknown assailants.
Took training in Pakistan
It is being told that Arjmand Gulzar alias “Burhan Hamza” was originally a resident of Ratnipora area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is said that he had gone to Pakistan about 7 years ago through valid documents, where he joined the terrorist organization Al-Badr. Later he became the operational commander of the organization and started running a network of recruitment, funding and arms supply of terrorists in Kashmir from Pakistan.
Hamza was in the most wanted list
Indian security agencies had kept him on the “most wanted” list for a long time. According to reports, the Home Ministry of the Government of India had officially declared him a terrorist in the year 2022. According to the ministry, he was playing an active role in spreading terror in Pulwama and South Kashmir, recruiting youth into terrorist organizations and providing financial support for terrorism.
His network was in many places of the valley
It is being told that according to security agencies, Arjmand Gulzar’s network was active in Pulwama, Shopian and Awantipora areas. He was accused of sending weapons, funding and terrorist instructions from Pakistan through local overground workers (OGWs). In many cases his name was found linked to explosives recovery, grenade attacks and terrorist recruitment.
