Pulwama Terror Attack Mastermind: An ordinary man from Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir, which is called heaven on earth, later reached Pakistan and became a big face of the world of terrorism, named Arjumand Gulzar Dar, who was also known as Hamza Burhan and “Doctor”.
Now news has come that someone in Pakistan has murdered him. According to reports, an unknown assailant shot him in the head in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), resulting in his death. It is said that he was living in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan and called himself a teacher there, but behind the scenes he was running a terrorist network.
Who was Arjmand Gulzar alias “Burhan Hamza”?
According to reports, Arjmand Gulzar alias “Burhan Hamza” was originally a resident of Kharbatpura area of Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Father’s name was Gulzar Ahmed Dar. He had gone to Pakistan about 7 years ago through valid documents, where he joined the terrorist organization Al-Badr.
While living in Pakistan, he tried to give himself the identity of “Teacher”, so that there would not be much suspicion on his activities. Later, he became the operational commander of the organization and started running a network of recruitment, funding and supply of weapons to terrorists in Kashmir from Pakistan. He also studied MBBS.
Declared a terrorist in 2022
Indian security agencies had kept Hamza Burhan on the “most wanted” list for a long time. The Home Ministry had officially declared him a terrorist in the year 2022.
He was accused of sending weapons, funding and terrorist instructions from Pakistan through local overground workers (OGWs). In many cases his name was found linked to explosives recovery, grenade attacks and terrorist recruitment.
More than 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred
Hamza Burhan’s name remained in discussion because he was related to Pulwama. The Pulwama attack took place on 14 February 2019 in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 40 CRPF soldiers were martyred.
This attack shocked the entire country and after this India targeted the hideouts of terrorists by carrying out Balakot air strike.
