PM Modi gave Melody chocolate to Meloni

Melonie has shared this video with PM Modi in which she is saying – ‘PM Modi has brought this gift for me, a very, very good toffee’. Then both the leaders smiled and said “Melody” together and laughed loudly.

While sharing this video, Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni wrote in the caption – ‘Thank you for this gift’. Ever since this video of hers has surfaced, “Melody Toffee” has once again come into the headlines.

According to the information, to make Melody chocolatey, an ingredient called Soy-Lecithin is used which increases the shelf-life of the toffee. It also controls sugar crystallization and fluidity of chocolate. It contains sugar, liquid glucose, cocoa powder, milk solids, malt extract, common salt, sorbitol syrup, soy lecithin, caramel, artificial flavour, chocolate and vanilla.

Why is Melody so chocolatey?

The tagline of Melody is still on everyone’s lips – ‘Why is this melody so chocolatey?’ This toffee has a hard caramel layer inside, with melted chocolate milk in the middle. This is said to be the reason for it being so chocolatey. If you eat Melody, you will get both the tastes together in full. That’s why the person asking the question gets the same answer – “Eat the melody, know yourself.”

This toffee was launched by Parle company in 1983. Parle did an experiment in the market through Melody Toffee. Most toffees or candies of that time were either hard or very soft. In such a situation, the company wanted to provide a chocolate-like experience inside a toffee at less money. When you eat this toffee, there is a hard caramel taste on the outside, then as soon as you chew it, your mouth is filled with chocolate cream.

How was the ‘Melody Itni Chocolatey Kyun Hai’ campaign created?

According to the information revealed, Parle company wanted to make its toffee appear more chocolaty than other toffees without taking any name. In such a situation, he gave the name of the campaign to Everest Company. Then an idea came to Haresh Moorjani’s mind. He thought of showing such people in the ad whom children consider as idols. Copywriter Sulekha Bajpayee started writing lines on this idea.

Then he gave some iconic lines which later became the identity of the melody. One of these was – ‘Tell me how so much chocolate is filled inside Melody’, to which the answer was – ‘Eat Melody, know yourself’. Later the company also released a jingle – ‘Melody hai chocolaty, melody hai chocolaty’. Later a TV ad was made in which the question was asked – ‘How is the melody so chocolatey?’ To which the answer was – ‘Eat the melody, know yourself’. While doing this, people became curious as to how this toffee tastes so chocolatey and this became a major reason for its success.

Now Parle company also reshared this video of PM Modi and Meloni and wrote in the caption – ‘We have been making relationships sweet since 1983’.
