Amid the uproar over US President Donald Trump’s comment about India as a “place like hell”, a US Embassy spokesperson said the President has described India as “great”. “India is a great country, with a very good friend of mine at the helm,” the spokesperson quoted Trump as saying.
The clarification came hours after Trump shared a transcript in which he quoted conservative talk radio host Michael Savage calling India a “hell-like place.”
The transcript, which criticized birthright citizenship, read, “A child born here becomes a citizen immediately, and then they move their entire family here from China, India, or some other ‘hell-like place’ in the world. English is not spoken here anymore. The immigrant class coming here today has almost no loyalty to this country, unlike before.”
‘They have completely looted us’
It further stated that birthright citizenship had turned America into a “barbaric nation.” The transcript went on to say that immigrants have done more damage to this country than all the mafia families combined, adding, “In my unbiased opinion, these are gangsters with laptops. They have completely robbed us, treated us like second-class citizens, allowed the Third World to dominate, desecrated our flag, etc.”
It further lamented that the current legal system allows migrants to take advantage of US laws by arriving in their “ninth month of pregnancy”. This transcript was shared by Trump on ‘Truth Social’.
