US Iran News: There is doubt whether the second round of peace talks will be held in Islamabad between America and Iran. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump has announced to extend the ceasefire. Iran has described Trump’s decision as one-sided. Also rejected America’s conditions for talks.
Tehran clearly said that it does not accept Trump’s “unilateral decision” to extend the ceasefire and will take further steps only according to its national interest.
Mahdi Mohammadi, an adviser to the Iranian parliament speaker, also reacted to Trump’s decision. “There is no point in Trump extending the ceasefire. The losing side cannot impose its own conditions. Continuing the siege is no different from bombing and should be responded to with military action,” he said.
He said that extending the ceasefire by Trump is definitely a ploy to buy time for a surprise attack. Now is the time for Iran to take the initiative.
Trump announced to extend ceasefire
Let us tell you that there was a 14-day ceasefire between America and Iran on April 8, the period of which was going to end on April 22. Trump had clearly said that he would not extend this period. Meanwhile, he changed his stance again and announced to extend the ceasefire indefinitely.
Trump claimed that Iran’s government is divided. He also said that on the request of Pakistan Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the decision to extend the ceasefire is being taken. The US President said that I am extending the ceasefire until his proposal is presented and discussions, in whatever form, are completed. However, during this time he talked about continuing the blockade on the Strait of Hormuz.
What will happen to the second round of talks?
The second round of peace talks is to be held between America and Iran in Islamabad, Pakistan, but clouds of crisis are constantly looming over it. On one hand, America is ready for talks and has also said about sending its delegation. At the same time, Iran is not showing any interest in it. Iran says that there cannot be talks amid threats. Besides, he is also placing the condition of removing the blockade from the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance’s visit to Islamabad for talks has also been postponed.
