Rohit Sharma is missing from the playing eleven of Mumbai Indians. He will not play in the match against Gujarat Titans. This will be the second consecutive match in IPL 2026, when Rohit is not a part of MI’s playing eleven. After all, what happened to ‘Hitman’, due to which he is missing from Mumbai matches. Rohit is also not included in the list of impact players in the match against Gujarat.
What happened to Rohit Sharma?
Actually, the match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore was played on 12th April. Mumbai team was chasing the target of 241 runs. Rohit Sharma came to play as an opener and had scored 19 runs in 13 balls. Then he suffered a hamstring strain, due to which he retired hurt and returned to the dressing room. After that Rohit has not played a single match. Due to the same injury, he is not even playing in the match against Gujarat.
When will you come back?
Before the match against Gujarat Titans, Rohit Sharma had started practicing in the nets. Even MI bowling coach Paras Mhambrey said that Rohit is completely fit. Although he did not confirm that Rohit will play against Gujarat. But he had declared Rohit fit. Despite this, his not being in the playing eleven can be considered as an indication that the management of Mumbai Indians does not want to take any risk regarding Rohit’s fitness.
Rohit Sharma has so far scored 137 runs in four matches in IPL 2026. Rohit’s individual performance has been mediocre, but his team Mumbai Indians is struggling with very poor form. Mumbai has so far been able to register only one win in 5 matches.
