Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir will go to Washington after his visit to Iran, the purpose of which is to mediate between America and Iran. This step has been taken after the talks between a high-level Pakistani delegation in Iran.
The main objective of the talks was to hold new talks, just a week before the ceasefire between the two sides expires. This delegation led by Munir is carrying with it a message from America regarding possible talks.
On the other hand, Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said on Thursday that after completing his official visit to Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reached Doha, the capital of Qatar.
In a statement issued on Friday, the PMO said the Prime Minister and his delegation were welcomed by Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
He has also got a big benefit from Shahbaz’s Saudi tour. Saudi Arabia has approved $3 billion aid for Pakistan. Not only this, Pakistan has also received an important economic assistance of $2 billion from Saudi Arabia, which has provided relief for some time from the pressure on its external finances and foreign exchange reserves.
In a post on Twitter, State Bank of Pakistan confirmed that it has received these funds from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Finance, with a value date of April 15, 2026. “The State Bank of Pakistan has received funds worth US$2 billion from the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the central bank said, although it did not provide any further information about the duration or terms of the deposits.
Shahbaz has gone on tour to many countries
On Wednesday, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for a four-day visit to Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. This happened when talks between Washington and Tehran failed to reach any agreement. The same day, Pakistan’s army chief arrived in Tehran to bring Iran and the US back to the negotiating table.
Pakistani officials said Sharif also spoke to the leaders of Qatar, Italy, Britain and Germany as part of “intensive diplomatic talks with his counterparts around the world.”
