US-Israel-Iran war: It has been more than a month since the ongoing war between America, Israel and Iran. The question of when this war will end is still unresolved. A major reason behind this is the constantly changing attitude of US President Donald Trump. Trump has changed his claims regarding the war several times. Now on one hand he has talked about ending this war in the next two to three weeks. However, in the meantime, thousands of additional soldiers of the American Army are also going towards the Middle East.
The Trump administration has stressed that progress has been made in talks with Iran, but has also threatened to escalate the war if an agreement is not reached soon.
Another aircraft carrier leaves for Middle East
Two American officials said that America’s third aircraft carrier ‘USS George H.W. Bush’ has left for the Middle East. This aircraft carrier strike group includes more than 6 thousand marines.
The carrier strike group departed Norfolk Naval Base, Virginia earlier this week as part of a routine deployment. However, its final destination and how much time it will take to reach the Middle East is not yet clear. If this deployment is fully activated, the number of aircraft carriers involved in ongoing US operations against Iran will increase to three.
Two large aircraft carriers already exist
America already has two other major aircraft carriers in the Middle East region. ‘USS Gerald R Ford’ and ‘USS Abraham Lincoln’ are deployed and engaged in various military operations. Actually, USS Gerald R Ford is currently stopped for repairs due to a fire incident on the island of Crete, Greece. USS Abraham Lincoln is currently active in the North Arabian Sea.
The deployment of additional forces, in addition to the thousands already in the Middle East, comes at a time when Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and other administration officials have tried to avoid questions about whether the US military would deploy ground troops against Iran.
Hegseth said that you cannot win a war if you tell your opponent what you are willing to do or what you are not willing to do, including the deployment of troops on the ground. He further said that our enemy currently feels that we can adopt 15 different ways to attack them on the ground. And really? There are such methods. He also said that the goal is to reach an agreement with Iran through negotiations because we do not want to do anything more than necessary militarily.
Trump had made a big announcement
Earlier, US President Donald Trump had recently made it clear that America will soon start the process of withdrawing its army. He said that America does not need any agreement with Iran to end the war.
Trump said that US forces will leave Iran in the next two to three weeks. He claimed that the goal of ‘regime change’ in Iran has been achieved, hence America is no longer in favor of prolonging this conflict. On one hand, Trump is talking about ending the war. On the other hand, America is sending additional troops to the Middle East, which again raises questions on their dual attitude.
