The US Secretary of State said these things after the meeting of foreign ministers of G7 countries in France. He said that America can achieve its set goals before or around the time. He also said that some American troops may have to be deployed in the area, so that options remain open if needed.
‘Toll collection will not be tolerated in Hormuz’
Amidst the war, tension regarding the Strait of Hormuz is at its peak. Iran has closed this important waterway for some countries, due to which the movement of ships is being affected. At the same time, there are also reports that the Parliament of Iran is considering whether toll (money) should be taken from the ships passing through this route. Marco Rubio’s statement came on this also. He said that Iran may decide to implement a toll system in the Strait of Hormuz, which will not be tolerated.
Even though the US Secretary of State has ruled out a ground war, the Pentagon has begun sending thousands of Marines and Airborne troops to the Middle East. The first batch may also arrive by ship by the end of the month.
Amidst the war, the Trump administration has sent a 15-point proposal to Iran through Pakistan. However, Tehran has denied these talks. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has clearly said that talks amid attacks are unacceptable and Iran will give a heavy response.
