Iran has issued one of its strongest warnings yet regarding the Strait of Hormuz. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that the strategic waterway has been closed, and warned that any ships trying to pass through it will face a “strong response”.
The IRGC said they would prevent any ships from passing through the ports of the US and Israel’s allies and supporters, to any destination and on any route.
“Today we stopped 3 ships from different countries from crossing the Strait of Hormuz because they did not have permits,” the IRGC said.
Warning to citizens of West Asian countries also
Earlier, Iran’s IRGC issued a new warning to the citizens of neighboring West Asian countries. In a message released by Press TV, the IRGC said, “To the people of West Asia. The cowardly American-Zionist forces, which do not have the courage and ability to defend their own military bases, are trying to use innocent civilians as ‘human shields’ out of fear of Islam fighters.”
The statement further said, “Since it is our duty to eliminate US and Israeli forces who recklessly kill Iranian civilians and target prominent figures, we will take action against them wherever we find them. We advise you to immediately leave areas where US forces are deployed, to avoid any harm.”
