US President Donald Trump has threatened Iran that if it does not open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, he will attack and destroy its power plants, starting with the largest plant.

According to data from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) website, in 2023, more than 340,000 GWh of electricity will come from these fuels, while about 28,000 GWh will come from renewable energy. According to the IAEA, Iran says it has only one operational nuclear power reactor, the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in the west, and another under construction. In 2023, Iran plans to generate 5,740 GWh of electricity from nuclear energy.

Trump has given this warning to Iran through a post on the Truth Social platform. In it he wrote, “If Iran, within exactly 48 hours from now, without any further threats, does not completely open the Strait of Hormuz, the United States will attack their various power plants and completely destroy them.” Trump said that it will start with the largest plant.
